Happiness Advantage
Conventional wisdom holds that if we work hard, we will be more successful, and if we are more successful, then we'll be happy. But, recent discoveries in the field of positive psychology have shown that the formula for success is backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around. When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. Using Shawn Achor's The Happiness Advantage, we will review 7 practical, actionable principles that have been tried and tested everywhere from classrooms to boardrooms.

Crucial Conversations

Crucial Conversations
In the book, Crucial Conversations, the authors argue that the root cause of many--if not most--human problems lies in how people behave when others disagree with them about high-stakes, emotional issues. Dramatic improvements in organizational performance were possible if people learned the skills routinely practiced by those who have found a way to master these high-stakes, "crucial" moments. A growing body of research shows when leaders invest in creating a culture of Crucial Conversations, organizations drastically improve their operations. More than that, Crucial Conversations can drastically improve human relationships and interactions.

CTE Self Efficacy
Self-Efficacy is the belief in one’s ability to succeed in achieving an outcome or reaching a goal. This belief, specific to a task or an area of knowledge or performance, shapes the behaviors and strategies that help one pursue their goal. Self-efficacy is informed by five influences (also known as sources): performance experience, vicarious experience, social persuasion, imaginal experience, and physical and emotional states.

Texas Model Guide for Comprehensive School Programs (Counselors)
Texas Model Guide for Comprehensive School Programs
The Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs is a revision and expansion of the 2004 Pre-K-12th Grade Development Guide: A Model Comprehensive, Developmental Guidance and Counseling Program for Texas Public Schools. The revision was completed by the Texas Counseling Association (TCA) in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency (TEA). As in the 2004 guide, the Texas Model is based on the statutory description of Texas school counseling programs and school counselor responsibilities (Texas Education Code [TEC] §§33.005-33.007). The Texas Model is further expanded to address changes to statute related to school counseling since 2004.
